Hans van Herwaarden has a unique blend of executive-level experience and subject matter expertise that has made him a truly innovative entrepreneur. With an unparalleled eye for opportunity, highly developed experience in deal-making, and a strong sense of long-term strategic direction, he can quickly identify and communicate forward-thinking strategies, creating a (renewed) sense of excitement and “purpose” for all stakeholders involved. Working internationally for the majority of his career and holding many board positions in different profit and not-for-profit organizations, Hans has created a vast international network in business, finance, education, and government. His forte is connecting people, building bridges, and transplanting concepts and solutions between different domains.

Throughout the last twenty years of his career, Hans has proven to be a multifaceted professional, highly involved in not only business activities. Parallel to his business career, he has been and currently still is teaching at universities while holding (supervisory) board positions in different international organizations.

Hans holds a doctorate in International Business Management. He is also one of only 40 certified and registered individuals appointed by the Dutch Court to be called upon as a subject matter expert in IT-related contractual disputes. His approach to problems and/or opportunities is fact-based, analytic, and compelling.

Hans is driven by his inherent desire to innovate, taking the lead in an executive role while revitalizing organizations. Hans is typically not afraid to reinvent businesses and/or organizations by “thinking and acting big(er)” and/or thinking outside the box. At the same time, he always has a good eye for the practicalities and limitations that organizations typically face, understanding all “forces at work” and the interests of current and future stakeholders.
